The Viking shirt or blouse was straight and half-long, up to the middle of the thigh, it could also be flared on the sides worn with a belt. These two types of clothing are attested by iconographic presentations. The collar of the shirt is slit and often closed with a fibula. Decorations could be placed on the collar or sleeves. Sometimes it was completely embroidered, discovered in the Mammen's tomb in Bierringhøi, dated 970/971.
